Toppling the Pedestal

New! Read below the ridiculously stupid "prayer" or "revelation to Mutter Vogel" regarding the "Criticism of Priests". The so-called prayer is not in any way substantiated by Christian or biblical teaching and is completely contradicted by the statements, letters and philosophies of many individuals who were later canonized into sainthood by the official Church. Nevertheless, this "prayer" finds its way in Catholic prayer books and in church pews and in the hands of Pew Monkeys worldwide. It does NOT contain an Catholic imprimatur.

CRITICISM OF PRIESTS, Our Lord's revelation to Mutter Vogel

"One should NEVER attack a priest, even when he's in error; rather, one should pray and do penance that I'll grant him MY grace again. He alone fully represents Me, even when he doesn't live after My example!" (Page 29, Mutter Vogel's Worldwide Love, St. Grignion Publishing House, Altoting, Sough Germany (29.6. 1929).

When a priest fails, we should extend him a helping hand THROUGH PRAYER AND NOT THROUGH ATTACKS! I Myself will be his judge, NO ONE BUT I!" "Whoever voices judgment over a priest has voiced it over me; child, never let a priest be attacked, take up his defense." (Feast of Christ the King, 1937) "Child, never judge your confessor, rather pray much for him and offer every Thursday, through the hands of My Blessed Mother, Holy Communion (for Him) (18.6 1939). "Never again accept an out-of-the-way word about a priest, and speak no unkind word (about them) EVEN IF IT WERE TRUE! Every priest is My Vicar and My heart will be sickened and insulted because of it! If you hear a judgment (against a priest) pray a Hail Mary.: (28.6 1939)

"If you see a priest who celebrates the Holy Mass unworthily, then say nothing about him, rather tell it to Me alone! I stand beside Him on the altar!" "Oh, pray much for my priest, that they'll love purity above all, that they'll celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with pure hands and heart. Certainly the Holy Sacrifice is one and the same even when it's celebrated by an unworthy priest, but the graces called down upon the people is not the same!" (28.2 1938)

Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for them. Amen.

We believe every priest, religious, and employee of the Catholic Church should strongly and loudly denounce the above Baloney from pulpits and in bulletins, newsletters and web sites. This "prayer" is not a prayer at all but a dangerous sacrilege and a permission slip for pedophiles and their enablers to hurt children and others.

Anyone who promotes or defends this "prayer" ought to re-read the Bible and start using their common sense! Obviously, if anyone has suspicions or information regarding the abuse of children, they should contact the police or Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and report what they know or have witnessed, whether or not the suspected perpetrator is a priest. Fraternal Correction and Biblical Rebuke is repeatedly encouraged and demanded throughout the Old and New Testaments. Anyone who teaches otherwise is ignorant.

New! Potentially unsafe groups or leaders "come off very nice at first, they go for vulnerable people who are looking for answers, lonely, what you'd call 'normal people.' They're very good at what they do and can get people to believe anything. You might think you'd never get taken in, but don't bet on it. "

-- Margaret Singer, Ph.D.

Don't be Naive, Develop a Good BS Detector.

You can protect yourself from unsafe groups and leaders by developing a good BS detector. Check things out, know the facts and examine the evidence. A safe group will be patient with your decision making process. If a group or leader grows angry and anxious just because you want to make an informed and careful decision before joining; beware.

The Priesthood

roman collar

by St. Alphonsus DeLigouri

"But how, I ask, does it happen that the saints, who live only for God, resist their ordination through a sense of their unworthiness, and that some run blindly to the priesthood, and rest not until they attain it by lawful or unlawful means?

Ah. Unhappy men!

Says, St. Bernard, to be registered among the priests of God shall be for them the same as to be enrolled on the catalogue of the damned.

And why?

Because such persons are generally called to the priesthood, not by God, but by relatives, by interest, or ambition. Thus they enter the house of God, not through the motive a priest should have, but through worldly motives.

Behold why the faithful are abandoned, the Church dishonored, so many souls perish, and with them such priests are also damned."

"You are in charge of the garden of the Holy Church. So uproot from the garden the stinking weeds full of impurity and avarice and bloated with pride. I mean the evil pastors and administrators who poison and corrupt the garden..."

-Catherine of Siena, canonized saint and Doctor of the Roman Catholic Church, to Pope Gregory XI.

"The fact is that I do uphold my priests. I do support this Church, the Church of my Son. I do support everything in obedience to the Hierarchy of the Church; but when there is error and when the "truth" is not the Truth, then all must be revealed."

-Part of Public Message of Our Lady of Emmitsburg to the World through Gianna Sullivan, February 11, 2006

The Apostles' Wives Club

This is a site in which comments and participation is welcomed, not just from priest's wives, but married priests, priests, family members, children, and really anyone who feels they have something to share. Many Catholics are not aware of the history of celibacy, and how it really affects those touched by it, and so the author of this site hopes that all Catholics will visit her blog and become involved in the discussion.
